Creed Taylor Produced

It’s that time of year to remind you that while Creed Taylor never actually produced a Christmas or holiday album, he did produce albums that included holiday tunes. Back in 2020, I put together a “fantasy” Creed Taylor holiday mix, and that is included below. This year, I have a bonus mix.

It’s hard to remember back to Christmas in 2020. COVID-19 vaccines were not approved until just before Christmas; we were mostly stuck at home. Although, to be fair, I’m still here. With a lot of time at home, I was able to catch up with a lifetime backlog of filing and scanning. I now have a personal archive of over 10,000 music magazines, with just a few hundred left to go. I also digitized many, many vinyl records; I still have many of those to do.

Back then, I’d planned to post a lot more Creed Taylor-produced music to Mixcloud. It never happened. I just don’t have the quantity of music to justify their pricing; I’m happy if my posts and mixes get near to 1,000 reads or plays each in a year. What I started doing with Mixcloud was “Favoriting” things I wanted to come back to. Here is one such mix.

The mix is by Mixcloud user BrainstemBob ^[1]https://www.mixcloud.com/brainstembob/a-cool-yuletide-andrews-christmas-2020/ and was posted in 2020. It features tracks by Vince Guaraldi Trio, Bobby Timmons, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Urbie Green, Duke Pearson, and more. The sound here is streamed via the Internet Archive, which continues to crawl back into action.
