I spent most of my professional career working in technology, one thing I never ventured into was being a printer specialist, either design, software programming, or to be fair, even using them much. I do have a 14-year old 4-1 laser printer, but even that is black and white!
3D printing is like Star Wars to me, I don’t understand the first thing about how it works or the extent of which you can use it. I’ve seen those TV do-it-yourself shows where they talk about “3D printed houses” – I’m just staring at the screen thinking to myself, “What?”
User smelc17 – on the thingiverse website seems to understand [1]https://www.3dgo.app/user/thingiverse/smelc17 and has produced a 3D rendering of the CTI Records logo printed on a backgroud that appears to be a vinyl record, framed in white. Very smart, very clever and has made the print instructions freely available. Obviously a fan of Creed’s productions, the page includes Joe Farrell’s “Canned Heat” and “In Concert – Volume 2”. If you are into 3D printing you can find it here.

My local library has a 3D printer, I got in touch and just emailed the template. They were unable to print in multiple colors and had to make some minor changes but otherwise super helpful. I picked up a 8×8″ an all black CTI logo the next day.
Daniel at the Louisville library was super helpful and even sent over these pictures of the 3D printing in process.

Do you 3D print, did you try it? Leave a comment or “contact me” and I’ll post your result.
Updates: 10/14/2025 Added my 3D print done at the library.
