A few years ago, I spent the summer DJing with CTI, Kudu, and some earlier Creed Taylor tracks. Doug at Absolute Vinyl in Longmont, Colorado, was good enough to host a number of events. At most of the events, I wore one of the three CTI-related shirts I have, including the CTI summer jazz shirt, which I sent out to a number of people, including David Matthews.
One question some people ask is where they can get one from? The CTI Summer Jazz t-shirts, or the “Hank’s Back” shirts, as they are affectionately known (see Doug and Hank below), were a one-time run done in the UK by Mr. Krum (https://mrkrum.bigcartel.com/). The CTI logo, as well as the KUDU, as far as I’m aware, are no longer under copyright. The albums and masters are owned by major corporations, mostly Sony and Universal Music, but others as well.

In one of my recent alerts, I received one about TeePublic – who are based in New York but otherwise a print and sell online creators’ website. TeePublic is one of those co-op style online stores; they provide the infrastructure and customer service, while users provide the content [1]https://www.teepublic.com/about.
Since my original post, Preston got in touch to let me know he has added his version of the “Hanks Back” CTI Summer Jazz t-shirt. You can find it here.
In this case, Teepublic user “AnalogJunkieStudio” has provided the artwork for Teepublic to produce and fulfill the content/t-shirts. AnalogJunkieStudio is actually Preston Lee of Lafayette, IN – and he has a Linktree to his own designs across various media types, including slipmats for turntables (https://linktr.ee/analogjunkiestudio).
You are able to order a variety of products off the Teepublic store including t-shirts available in various colors; hoodies, vests, trucker caps, travel mugs available in black only, and more.
I ordered a Kudu shirt in vintage wash style and it was great. I bought a mens XL and it was probably on the large size and didn’t shrink in the wash. I do not receive any form of product or money as commission or compensation if you buy anything. The way Teepublic works is like Bandcamp; both Teepublic and the user will split the money for any products purchased.
Let me know if you do buy anything, and send pictures. If you have any problems, again let me know.
