On This Day: Hubert Laws Interview
On July 21, 1973, flutist Hubert Laws performed at Atlanta’s CTI Summer Festival, later interviewed by “The Bird” newspaper. Focusing on his classical influences and blending them into jazz, Laws discussed his work with iconic musicians, his role at the Metropolitan Opera, and his teaching through publications. His collaborative recording experiences and innovative all-string album were also highlighted.
